Istvánovits Eszter: International Connections... (Jósa András Múzeum Kiadványai 47. Aszód-Nyíregyháza, 2001)

Foreword

Foreword This volume contains most of the papers presented at the international archaeological conference "International Connections of the Barbarians of the Carpathian Basin in the l st-5 th centuries" held on August 24-27 1999 in Aszód and Nyíregyháza. We have also included articles from authors who submitted their papers to the program of the conference but for one reason or another were not able to participate and therefore sent their presentations to be published. We would like to express our gratitude to many colleagues (most of them authors of this volume) who helped us with various kinds of information necessary for the proper editing of the book: Ilia Akhmedov (Moscow), Halina Dobrzanska (Cracow), Snezana Golubovic (Belgrade), Michel Kazanski (Paris), Igor Khrapunov (Simferopol), Anna Mastykova (Moscow), Gheorghe Alexandru Niculescu (Bucharest), Christian Pilet (Caen), Alexandr Simonenko (Kiev), Birger Storgaard (Copenhagen), and Lyudmil Vagalinski (Sofia). Special thanks to Claus von Carnap-Bornheim (Schleswig), Andrzej Kokowski (Lublin), and Everett L. Wheeler (Durham, USA).
