Bead finds of Avarian graves from Tiszavasvári—Kashalom-dűlő

Necklaces made of glass beads from Tiszavasvári-Kashalom-dűlő can be classified into two groups well distinguishable by their style. The necklace from grave 33 belongs to bead strings showing Germanic - mainly Western Germanic of Merovingian Age - connections (Pásztor 2014. 280-282) with a few monochromic beads. The necklace of grave 34 influenced by Late Roman fashion is made of monochromic beads of different colours and varied shapes among which a prismatic, polyhedric camelian bead was included.

Bead string from grave 33 was composed of opaque glass beads that, on the basis of analogies, can be dated to a relatively wide chronological horizon. These pieces were favoured in the first half of the 7th century and stayed in fashion also around the middle of the century.
