Régészet - Igor Prohnenko - Volodimir Mojzsesz - Maria Zsilenko: A királyházai vár csempekályhája
Igor Prohnenko - Volodimir Mojzsesz - Maria Zsilenko The excavation (4x4 m) has been started at the south-west wall of the main building. The layer output was 4.2 meter wide. Three horizons have been defined. Horizon I (0-1.2 m) and horizon 11 (1.2 - 3.6 m) mainly consist of construction debris and contain ceramics and animals' bones. The horizons I and II are clearly divided by a collapsed arch. Horizon III (3.6 - 4.2 m) is represented by an oval-shaped furnace of the tile stove with a chimney. The layer consists of black suppressed ash containing the tiles, vessels, significant number of the bones of birds and animals, and big fragments of coal. The tiles with the floral design, images of the knights, kings, saints and the coat of arms of the Perényi family should be highlighted. By analogy with the other monuments of the region (Füzér, Saris, Trebisov) the tile stove was built in the 16 l h century and has been functioning till the mid of 17 t h century. This is also proven by ceramics found in the tile stove.
