Bene János Report on the activity of the Directorate of Museums of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County in 2010 In 2010, the realisation of three international projects (Patrimonium, Castellum, SAMCULT) together with the County Museum of Szatmár County of Romania meant a great challenge for the directorate of the county museums. The winning of a TAMOP competition in the Sóstó Museum Village ("Falusi teszemveszem" - "Village odd jobs") was another great success in 2010: it was a complex program series for disadvantaged children and ones who live in underdeveloped settlements. The Báthori István Museum won a TAMOP and two TIOP competitions, which financed the furnishing of a modern didactic and educational room in the museum building and the realisation of various museum pedagogical programs. The Beregi Museum took part in a Norwegian competition also for the realisation of an international project, which is named "Together for the culture of Bereg". The Szatmári Museum closed the "Year of Conferences" in 2010 since it organised an international and two national conferences. The Vay Ádám Museum organised the 4

h international meeting of shawn artists in 2010. The allowed number of the employees was 101 in the directorate of the county museums in 2010. The nine chapters of the activity report discuss the work done in the directorate of museums in 2010. This year, 14 publications were edited, the colleagues wrote 75 publications and 96 exhibitions were organised. In 2010, 163618 people visited our museums and exhibitions.
