Néprajz - Bene János: Egyházi építkezés Nyíregyházán az 1920-as évek második felében

Bene Jánosné The two most populous congregations belonged to the Lutheran and the Roman Catholic Churches. Both of them took measures already in 1927 to build each a modern, four-level tenement building, in which shops would occupy the ground floor and flats of various numbers of rooms would be furnished in the three upper levels. Both churches intended to build the houses from advantageous credits and they ordered designs from well-known architects in Budapest declaring at the same time that they would hire builders in Nyíregyháza to reduce local unemployment. The construction works started in a good pace in the spring of 1928 and both Churches could occupy their houses in the autumn of the same year.
