Néprajz - Ulrich Attila: Jobbágyi adózás és társadalom a Szepesi Kamara területén 1670-73 között

Ulrich Attila Villein taxation and society on the territory of the Szepes Chamber between 1670 and 1673 The overwhelming majority of the confiscations validated after the exposure of the Wesselényi conspiracy took place on the territory of the Szepes Chamber. This study sums up the results of recent investigations. The examined documents show a mixed picture: we can find possessions of the aristocracy, the middle aristocracy and the gentry. The main result of the investigations is the assessment of the individual estates, which includes the number of villeins, the sizes of the plots, the taxation system of the estates first of all the manors. We found that the Chamber confiscated many manors, which affected at least 50000 people. We have demonstrated that there were serious differences in the census taxation on the territory of the Szepes Chamber, which was caused by the diversity of economic traditions of the various ethnicities. The investigations have not been finished: the studied period of 1470 to 79 will be extended until 1686.
