Adalékok az 1612. évi események történetéhez VERESS 1914. Veress Endre: Bethlen ifjúkori levelei. Erdélyi Múzeum új folyam 9 (31): 6. 1914. 313-338. MOHÁCSI Endre Jósa András Múzeum Nyíregyháza H^f401 Pf. 57. e-mail: andrewmohacsi@gmail.com Data on the events of the year 1612 Gábor Báthory's short rule as Prince of Transylvania (1608-1613) was full of political and military events. In December, the Tokaj peace treaty closed the year 1611 yet no peace ruled even after it. The Prince's people one after the other turned away from him (András Ghiczy, András Nagy and Gábor Bethlen), even the Ottoman Porte turned its back to him and to top it Brassó valiantly defended itself against him. Báthory tried to keep his title in league with the Hungarian kingdom. Zsigmond Forgách the captain general of Northern Upper Hungary and András Dóczy captain general of Szatmár could feel relieved. In result of the events of 1612, the hope of recapturing Transylvania became once again a possibility for them and also for György Thurzó palatine.
