Both prizes were handed over at the May Feast of Museums in Budapest on May 16, 2009. István Román the vice-president of the county assembly also appeared at the ceremony. We equally highly value the Poroszlai Ildikó memorial plaquette, which was donated to the Szatmár Museum of Mátészalka by the Small Museum Branch of the Pulszky Society - Hungarian Museum Association and the Self-Government of Százhalombatta on October 15. The Jósa András Museum won 10 million Forints for a new military historical exhibition in the competition of the Alfa project of the OKM. The permanent exhibition was finished on schedule. Its ceremonial opening was also the opening event of the Museum Night on June 20. Oszkár Seszták the president of the county assembly gave the opening speech. The Sóstó Museum Village won 15.2 million Forints for the accomplishment of the first phase of the estate granary also in the OKM Alfa project. The county self-government controlled the accomplishment of the investment: it was opened on October 9. In 2009, the authorised number of the staff of the museum directorate of the county was 101 employees. Nine chapters of the report on the activities cover the work done in 2009. The colleagues- of the directorate published 91 studies and organised 97 exhibitions. In 2009, 166,700 visitors visited our museums and exhibitions.
