Művészettörténet - Dr. Jakó János: Jósa András emléke a numizmatikában
Dr. Jakó János Numismatic commemorations of András Jósa Portrait of András Jósa was immortalised by 19 numismatic objects. Among them 18 pieces can be found in Hungarian public and private collections. One is owned by the Ministry of Culture of Latvia. The author presents coins and plaques with Jósa-portraits in chronological order. After a short numismatic description (obverse, reverse, size, technique - cast or struck -, name of the artist, year of production) he refers to the collection (in the case of pieces belonging to his own collection he does not point the owner) and marks on which occasion the coin was produced. After the description, the (not drawn to scale!) picture of piece is published. In the case of two-sided coins both the obverse and reverse are presented. The 18 bronze pieces of art belong to 10 artists. The author of the portrait on porcelain coin is unknown. Finally, the variety of Jósa portraits and the esthetical values of the reverse compositions are dealt with. Dr. János Jakó H-4400 Nyíregyháza Lukács Ödön utca 4. e-mail: drjakojanos@freemail.hu 392
