Régészet - Romát Sándor: Kaplony-Királyföldek. Adalékok egy földvár kérdésköréhez
Cäpleni—Királyföldek Data on a hillfort Kaplony—Királyföldek In this article I am dealing with a hillfort, that was forgotten during the last two decades. There is a huge earth fortress northwest of Cäpleni, near the field-road leading to Cämin. This fort was built at the place of an Early Bronze Age fortified tell that was enlarged in the Early Middle Ages. In 1989 the Thracological Institute continued here research in order to find out the age of the construction of the tell. During this excavation an Early Medieval pit was found. After the analyses of the archaeological material I compared it with historical evidence. All the facts show that this hillfort was constructed in the second half of 11th century, but not later then the mid-12th century. In all probability, it was a military centre of genus Kuplon/ Kaplony. Sándor Romát e-mail: s_romat@yahoo.com
