Soda-water works in the Sóstó Village Museum Data on the history of soda-water on the basis of the contemporary advertisements in newspaper Nyírvidék A short summary of the history and significance of the soda-water explain the arrangement of soda-works among the permanent exhibitions of the Sóstó Village Museum in 2007-2008. In connection with it, we made a research on the topic. Also in this connection we provided room for the temporary travelling exhibition made by Imre Kiss under the title "Soda-water, a Hungarian cultic drink." The latter exhibition represents the "everyday life" of soda-water with objects, documents, newspaper advertisements from different settlements of the country. We supplemented these documents with the advertisements published in Nyírvidék, the most significant local (weekly and later daily) newspaper of the county between 1880 and 1920. These advertisements give us a good idea on the start of soda-water production, its development and end. These processes reflect certain social and family changes as well. Analytical aspects of advertisements include the place, type and contents of publishing, the name of products, settlements, addresses, names, professions, techniques, means, price lists and methods of realisation.
