Helytörténet - Ulrich Attila: Egy nemesi karrier a XVIII. század elején - A birtokszerző „üzletember", jóbaházi Dőry László
A nobleman's carrier in the early-18 th century László Jóbaházi Dőry, a "businessman" acquiring possessions Why the genre of biography is important in history, as a style? Perhaps because each individual has a special life, style, personality. Everybody acts in accordance with different historical situations; that is how a "story" becomes very real and interesting, and, at the same time, a very important element of historiography. Successful life carrier of László Döry introduces to us a personality of an ambitious and clever "right man on the right place", who excellently used his connections and reliably completed his tasks. In this way he got a wide circle of acquaintances which supported his carrier both financially and politically. His close friendships (based also on his economic interests) gave him a clue to a different, fairy-tale world in which in a couple of years a lower noble practically without possessions, became the proprietor of a 27,500 acres large territory and of a large amount of cash.
