Régészet - Horváth Tünde: About Baden Cultura – an irregular approach

A badeni kultúráról — rendhagyó módon About Baden Culture — an irregular approach Using an irregular approach, we showed the Baden Culture as a disintegrating tribal society that - at some places - was already organised into a co-operating system standing above tribes, but had not reached the level of the chieftains' society. This spectacular development and social transformation was caused by technological innovations (wheel, wagon, yoke, animal draw, plough, wool spinning/weaving), and by the flourishing of the continental trade. The situation of women in the society considerably improved comparing to earlier ages and cultures. The grave-goods showed features characteristic for ranking societies. This period was strongly influenced by violence: leaders tried to compensate social tensions with spectacular and rich communal bloody (animal, human) sacrifices integrated into the frames of religion and world of beliefs. The number of these phenomena gradually grew, but despite of this they did not bring success.
