KÖLTŐ LÁSZLÓ & BAJZIK ANNAMÁRIA: Kora Árpád-kori temetőrészlet egy kaposvári lakóparkban
leletanyagot általában a szokványos S végű fülbevalók, fonott ezüst gyűrűk, üveggyöngyök, balták és rombusz alakú nyílhegyek jelentik. Érdekes jelenség a temető nyugati részében a két üres terület. Köszönetnyilvánítás Köszönettel tartozunk a lakópark beruházójának (Kapós Immo Kft.), a beruházásában részt vevő kivitelező cégeknek (VÍZCOOP Kft, KÖGÁZ Zrt, Magyar Telekom Rt., EON, ViDaNet Rt.) a lelőhely feltárásához nyújtott anyagi hozzájárulásáért, valamint a feltárás során tanúsított együttműködési készségükért. Köszönet illeti a Somogy Megyei Múzeumok Igazgatósága restaurátorait a leletek gyors és szakszerű kezeléséért. Early Árpád-era cemetery section in a housing park in Kaposvár. Preliminary report on the archaeological survey of areas affected by public utilities instalment in the Ezüsthárs housing block LÁSZLÓ KÖLTŐ & ANNAMÁRIA BAJZIK In Kaposvár, on the territory of former Zöldfok Rt. (KaposvárCity Horticulture/Városi kertészet site) during the archaeological excavations connected to the public utility establishments on the building plot of a new residential centre, on the Western part of the area 16-17 C. settlement traces were found damaged in recent times. On the Eastern section, at street No. 1. and at the Southern section of the drainpipe, water, gas, electric and telecom lines, with the help of probe trenches we located the objects of the Neolitic, Copper-, and Bronze-age settlement already recorded earlier. We excavated a many layered Neolitic (DVK-Keszthely group) and Bronze-age settlement and their pits, as well as a medieval object (house) which deepened into the surface. We detected and excavated altogether 58 objects. We could localize István Ecsedy's rescue archaeological dig on the Western part of this section, where the rest of the site perished when glass houses were built. The site spreads East from the road through the building plots until the neighboring Mátyás street. On the Eastern side of the road, on an area of about 50 m, we located a cemetery, which according to the coins present in the find material (Petrus rex and Béla dux) can be dated to the beginning of the 11. C. and which after filling the entire width of the road continues on the neighboring croft. On the territory of the cemetery sporadic Copper-age (2 pits) and some Romanage settlement traces could also be found. We excavated 132 burials in the cemetery. In 44% of the graves we found relatively rich grave goods, mainly of the usual types: S-ending earrings, braided silver rings, glass beads, axes and rhombus shaped bowheads. An interesting phenomenon is the two empty area situated in the Western part of the cemetery. The Northern one - according to earlier excavation experiences - could refer to a cemetery situated around a church built on the surface without foundations, while the Southern functioned as a cult area (saint grove). The burials, according to the find material, could begin at the very beginning of the 11 C, though the excavated cemetery portion is not suitable for the definition of a more precise chronology.
