Additions to the vascular flora of Külső-Somogy region (Hungary) GERGELY KIRÁLY The downs of Külső-Somogy is one of the less known areas of Hungary from floristic and phytogeogaphic points of view. Data listed below were collected in that part of Külső-Somogy which is situated eastward from the Kaposvár - Tab - Siófok line. Mainly on the basis of field studies implemented between 2002-2006, the study presents data of 56 species with no former localities in the territory of Külső-Somogy and gives additional information in case of further 10 species. A part of the newly found species might have been omitted from the earlier literature sources by an oversight (such as Digitaria sanguinalis, Hypericum tetrapterum, Phalaris arundinacea), while another part of them has recently established (i.e. Chenopodium ficifolium, Echinocystis lobata). An important supplement to our knowledge is the correction of the regional area of some species of sub-Mediterranean character (such as Ononis pusilla, Verbascum pulverulentum) and the detection of more mountainous flora elements (i.e. Dryopteris dilatata, Petasites hybridus), which emphasizes the formerly forested character of this area. The author handled with some critical taxa of which data in this region have not been elaborated so far (such as Bromus ramosus s. I., Carex muricata s. I., Chenopodium spp.).
