Szentgál-Tűzköveshegy is the main source of radiolarite, key raw material of chipped stone artifacts in Transdanubia. Szentgál radiolarite has a distribution area equal to obsidian, and represents one of the important "long distance" raw materials in the Carpathian Basin and even beyond. This article deals with the study of the exploitation area, a systematic survey in all lithic assemblages in Veszprém county and other archaeological sites in Hungary.
