Analysis - TAKÁCS István: Collecting biological finds by water-sieving from the well of a mediaeval village
As far as on site water-sieving is concerned, availability of large quantities of water is the most important condition for this work. The main economic aspect of water sieving is financing of the labour potentially involved. Ideally, this work requires full time personnel, which may be a strain on the excavation budget. Nonetheless the examples of Lászlófalva and örménykút show that timely excavation techniques should be completed by water-sieving in order to improve the recovery of small archaeological, zoological and botanical finds and that bom the related technical and financial investments are worth while .
