Varga András, Solymós Péter és Uherkovich Ákos: A Villányi-hegység és környéke malakofaunisztikai vizsgálatainak eddigi eredményei (Mollusca) - Results of the malacofaunistical examinations (Mollusca) of the Villány Hills and environs, South Hungary.

110 DUNÁNTÚLI DOLGOZATOK TERMÉSZETTUDOMÁNYI SOROZAT 10 (2000) Results of the malacofaunistical examinations (Mollusca) of the Villány Hills and it environs, South Hungary András VARGA, Ákos UHERKOVICH & Péter SÓLYMOS Previous malacological data have been presented mainly the eastern part of the Villány Hills, and mostly of the southern slopes of the hills, which has a strong Submediterranean influence (steppe grasslands, rocky grasslands, a mosaic-like karst forest of Quercus pubescens and Fraxinus ornus surrounded by grasslands). Besides this, recent investigations concentrated on the lower western range of the hills, the northern slopes (with fragments of oak-hornbeam and ravine forests, here and there mixed with beech) and small water courses and fishponds along the hillsfoots as well. This paper aimed to gather all the published locality data together (with giving the sources). During the years 1996-2000 fundamental field works were carried out mostly by two of the authors (A. Uherkovich and P. Sólymos). Thus further 18 species were found in the samples, which have not occurred earlier in the examined area. Now we know 102 species (93 gastropods and 9 lamellibranchs) from the area altogether. 3 species of this number are known as subfossil or fossil shells but earlier literature mentioned their data. Another 21 species, mentioned by the literature, have not come out with recent field works. Species being interesting in faunistical point of view were also collected. Three Truncatellina species (T. cylindrica, T. callicrartis, T. claustralis) occur sometimes in the same habitat. Pupilla triplicata was found again with high dominance. One of the most interesting members of the fauna is Oxychilus hydatinus that was known earlier only from the SE part of Great Hungarian Plain.
