68 DUNÁNTÚLI DOLGOZATOK (A) TERMÉSZETTUDOMÁNYI SOROZAT 9. (1998) Recent studies on the malacofauna (Mollusca) of Dráva Region, South Hungary. András VARGA and Ákos UHERKOVICH Since the publishing of previous paper on this topic (VARGA 1995) 1,664 sample units containing 13,605 specimens were elaborated and their malacological material determined. The material of these recent samples belongs to 99 species. Many rich float debris samples were taken on the inundation area of Dráva river and along some smaller tributaries. Six species were collected and published in this paper first time from the Dráva Region (Ena montana, Helicodiscus singleianus, Arion lusitanucus, Vitrea subrimata, Dreyssena polymorpha, Sphaerium rivicola). Contrary 4 species to be moved from the list (Valvata pulchella, Ferrisia wautieri, Anisus leucostoma and Vitraea diaphana). Further 28 species published in prevoius paper were not collected again during the last collecting period (Theodoxus transver salis, Bithynia leachi, Gyraulus crista, Vertigo angustior, V. pusilla, Macrogastra plicatula, Clausilia dubia, Balea biplicata, Arion circumscriptus, A. fasciatus, A. hortensis, A. rufus, Aegopinella minor, Oxychilus glaber, Daudebardia rufa, Tandonia budapestensis, Lehmannia marginata, Umax maximus, L. flavus, L. tenellus, Deroceras agreste agg., D. laeve, Helicella obvia, Trichia unidentata, Trichia erjaveci, Euomphalia strigella). Data of eight species are to be accepted only by some doubts and their occurrence cannot be re-examined due to the lack of the original material. Total number of known species increased up to 126. Eight of them are to be revised. The rediscovery of Amphimelania holandri in River Dráva is also important result of recent examinations. Characteristic molluscan communities were found with dominancy of Pomatias elegáns and Aegopis verticillatus in Órtilos-Zákány hills, latter species also occurs along the reaches in Co. Somogy in several sites. Authors' address: Dr. Ákos UHERKOVICH András VARGA P. О. Box 347. P. O. Box 103 Janus Pannonius Museum Mátra Museum Natural History Department H-3201 Gyöngyös H-7601 Pécs
