The investigations were supported by the institutions mentioned above as well as both the Regional and the State Natural Protection Managment. We express our sincere thanks for this supports. The present volume containing 14 authors' 18 papers was supported by the State Natural Protection Managment and by its president, Dr. J. Tardy. Altogether 2445 animal species (69 of which are verterbates and 2185 insects) are recorded. The first Hungarian occurrence data of some species is given in the present volume. It is hoped that our investigations will continue in the next years and we shall publish further results of our studies in two or three years.
