Our knowledge of the caddisflies living in larger rivers was very unsufficient. Some data were collected and published on the fauna of the river Tisza and Fekete-Körös by the authors of the present paper some years ago (NÓGRÁDI, UHERKOVICH 1990) and a few years ago on caddisflies of the river Dráva (UHERKOVICH, NÓGRÁDI 1992a). The river Dráva - which is natural border between Hungary and Croatia - is one of the least regulated river in Europe. Because of the quick running the riverbed is not stable, modified permanently, mostly in its upper Hungarian part between Bares and Ortilos. The water is moderately polluted, the most polluted tributary is the river Mura. Due to the
