The Trichoptera of Béda-Karapancsa nature protection area, South Hungary Sára NÓGRÁDI and Ákos UHERKOVICH Though the nature protection area is relatively rich in waters, only 36 caddisfly species were recorded from there. Very huge material was collected personally and by light traps: more than 37 thousand imagines. This southern reach of Danube is heavily polluted, thus only few Trichoptera species can survive this quality of water. More than 8 tenth part of the material collected along the river were Hydropsyche species (mostly H. contubernalis McL. and H. bulgaromanorum Mai.). Dead branches of the right riverside of Danube have already eutrophized, therefore their caddisfly communities have become impoverished. Their dominant species is Ecnomus tenellus Ramb. Budzsák dead branch lying on the eastern part of nature protection area proved to be the most rich water in species and specimens number. The light trap was installed close to this water captured more than 30 thousand specimens of 26 species. The domináns Trichoptera species was Leptocerus tineiformis Curt. here. Oxyethira flavicornis Pict. is the rarest Trichoptera species of the area (Fig. 3), not frequent ones are Triaenodes bicolor Curt. (Fig. 4) and Ceraclea senilis Burm. (Fig. 5).
