Myrmecophilous, it is associated with Lasius ants. The specimens can be sifted from decaying wood or at the base of oak trees. Teretrius fabricii (Fig. 2): Distributed from Europe to Mongolia. Occurs in deciduous forests. It is found under bark and in the tunnels of wood-boring beetles. Selatosomus nigricornis (Fig. 3): Distributed in Europe and Sibiria. Occurs mainly in riverine forests and other wet habitats. The larva is polyphagous, developing in the soil. The adult is diurnal, swarming from April to June. 110
