Data to the mosquito fauna of the Juniper Woodland of Bares, Hungary (Diptera, Culicidae) SÁNDOR TÓTH Author has been participating in the Diptera research of the Juniper Woodland of Bares since 1975. His regular collecting activity resulted in a large material of Culicidae, The present contribution is to discuss his findings concerning 3963 specimens of gnats. Good breeding places are found in this region, consequently the Culicid fauna is comparatively rich. The so far shown 19 species yield interesting quantitative results. First is Aedes sticticus (34,5 %), while A. vexans comes in only as second (21,6 %), in spite of its country-wide first place. Other characteristic species are A. cinereus (11 %), A. cantâns (5,6 %), and Mansonia richiardii (5,5 %), Prom quantitative point of view Culex pipiens (11,5 %) might also be considered to be significant but of course plays no role as a vexing factor.
