Annotated red list of Symphyta of the Carpathian Basin
Blasticotomidae Blasticotoma filiceti Klug, 1834: One female captured in Hungary, Bakony Mts. at Fenyőfő: Kisszépalma on 25-31 May 1965. Two larvae were collected by Dr. Zombori at Uglya 28 July 1998. One female is deposited in the Budapest collection from Tiszaborkut (Kvasy) collected by Ermolenko on 10 June 1962. In Kremnické vrchy (Körmöci hegység): Králické sedlo-Dobrá jama (Királyhágó) 3 larvae were captured on Dryopteris carthusiana, 4 July 2000. Evaluation: DD Comments: This species is frequently evaluated as very rare. Recent findings on its hidden lifestyle, trofobiosis between larvae and ants and rather wide spectrum of fern foodplants (reviewed in LISTON 2007) call for further research on distribution of B. filiceti in the Carpathian Basin. Argidae Aprosthema bifurcum (Klug, 1834): Stúrovo (Párkány): 1 female, 16 June 1957. Evaluation: DD Comments: All Aprosthema species are rare species and their biology is rather unknown. Taxonomy of genus Aprosthema is insufficiently studied (e.g. BLANK, TAEGER 1998). Aprosthema brevicorne (Fallén, 1808): Ihelnik: lfemale, 5 July 1999, 1 female, 19 July 1999, Lúka (Hosszú-rét): 1 female, 20 Sept. 1999, PR Ostrov Kopác (Kopács-sziget): 1 female, 10 July 2006, Szigetbecse, 1 male, 03 June 1987. Evaluation: DD Aprosthema carpentieri Konow, 1902: One old (early 20th century) female is known from Pécs. Evaluation: DD Aprosthema friesei (Konow, 1895): We have data from Stúrovo (Párkány) and Devínska Kobyla (Pozsony: Dévény). Evaluation: DD Aprosthema humeratum (Konow, 1892): Mecsek: Zobák: 1 female, 3-6 August 1951, Veszprém: 1 female 23 August 1972 and Cajkov near Levice (Csejkő): July 1960. Evaluation: DD Arge auripennis Konow, 1891: Published records: Nagyszeben (Sibiu), Kolozs (Cluj) county and Segesvár (Sighisoara). Evaluation: EN Arge beckeri Tournier, 1889: Two males from Kalocsa, June 1887; 2 males from Szin, 11 May 1982, one old male from Érd (early 20th century) and 1 male and 1 female from Ercsi, May 1896 are known. Evaluation: EN Arge caucasica (Tournier, 1889): Zádiel valley (Szádellői-völgy): 2 males 3 females, 24 July 1959, 1 female, 17 July 1969. Evaluation: DD Arge expansa (Klug, 1834): Known from Mecsek: Jakab Hill, collected in June, and from Croatia: Zagreb. (The voucher specimens were not found in the Budapest collection) Evaluation: DD Arge metallica (Klug, 1834): Vihorlat-Remefské Hámre: 4 males 8 females, 15 July 1969. One old female from Tusnád (19th century) is deposited in the Budapest collection. Further known localities: Zirc, Dicsőszentmárton (Tirnaveni), and Korytnica. Evaluation: VU Comments: Rarely collected species inhabiting wet forests with Betula pendula. Arge thoracica (Spinola, 1808): Historical records from Budapest, Simontornya, Fácános and Mehádia and indefinite record from Slovakia. Evaluation: EN Sterictiphora furcata (Villers, 1789) Evaluation: DD Comments: The presence of this species in the Carpathian Basin needs confirmation following the recent revision of KOCH (1988). Till this time, all checked specimens proved to be S. angelicae. Sterictiphora gastrica (Klug, 1814): Podcetrtek: 3 females, Aug. 1934 (published as A. terebralis Ensl.). Evaluation: DD
