Uherkovich Ákos - Nógrádi Sára: Caddisflies (Trichoptera) of the Mecsek Mountains, South Hungary - A Mecsek hegység tegzesei (Trichoptera)

302 NATURA SOMOGYIENSIS Plectrocnemia minima Kalp. has another typical connection: it is an Eastern Balkanian species, here is its northwesternmost, very isolated occurrence. Another characteristic species is Potamophylax luctuosus Pill, et Mitt., which has an Illyrian (West Balkanian)Southeastern Alpin area. Some of the Malicky's (1983) "dinodal" species also occur here, these are characteristic elements of Central European mountainous streams. Summary Altogether 97 species were pointed out from the Mecsek Mountains. One of them, Chaetopteryx rugulosa mecsekensis Nógrádi endemic for the mountains, while another, extremely rare Eastern Balkanian species, Plectrocnemia minima Klap. was collected only here in Hungary. Fourteen species do not live in the surrounding plains and rolling regions, i.e. their occurrence is isolated in the mountains. Through three species we can find Alpin and Balkanian zoogeographical influence. The wide-spread forests and caves of the Mecsek Mountains afford important shelter for the species having a summer diapause. Acknowledgement We express our sincere thanks to Dr. L. Ábrahám for the caddisfly material collected by himself. Ms. K. Leskó passed much light trap material for elaboration and for publication. The staff of the Duna-Dráva National Park, mostly Mr. J. Bodo, P. Kulcsár, I. Zs. Tóth and S. Völgyi helped us in our field work. Literature BOTOSANEANU L., H. MALICKY 1978: Trichoptera. In: lilies, J. (ed.): Limnofauna Europaea.
