Checklist of the mayfly fauna of Somogy county (Ephemeroptera) TIBOR KOVÁCS The article gives a summary of publications on the mayfly fauna. According to these data, altogether 30 mayfly species are reported from Somogy county. 4 of them were recorded as a result or" sporadic collection, 28 were found during the programs carried out in the protected areas (Boronka-melléki Landscape Protection Area, alongside the River Dráva). Although the 30 species make up less than the one-third of the whole Hungarian fauna, some of them are rather interesting from faunistical point of view: Siphlonurus armatus, Metreletus balcanicus, Ametropus fragilis, Baetis alpinus, Procloeon nana, Cloeon simile, Oligoneuriella pallida, Heptagenia coerulans, Paraleptophlebia werneri, Ephemera gïaucops, Palingenia longicauda, Caenis martae. At the time of the report four of these species were new to the Hungarian mayfly fauna and one species, Caenis martae has not been found anywhere else in Hungary until now. At the beginning of the century Palingenia longicauda was still living in the River Zala, but unfortunately, there are no new reports confirming these data. From faunistical point of view, the Dráva is the most interesting river in the area so it should be the object of further investigations.
