CONGRATULATIONS It is unique in an institution's life that it is of the same age as its maintainer and receiver town Bares celebrates its jubilee of becoming a town, Drava Museum also opened its gates for the visitors thirty years ago. After the birth of the thought for establishing a museum we need to wait for ten years when the idea was realized. The newly initiated museum quickly adapted to the life of the town, with the help of its artistical and cultural programes it because popular and frequented institution. After the changes of the county museological network, from 1992 Bares assumed responsibility for maintaining and operating the museum. This step according to my opinion was also a very good decision because without it the town would have lost its important institution. In these decades - like everywhere - there were also some troughs. In these situations and in the solving of these problems we always could counted on the colleagues of the museum. We believed in the future that is why we straightened the fellow workers with two other newly graduated museological specialists. Today, on this nice jubilee Bares can be proud of its institution. Their exhibitions are of high standard, the workers are well educated,their research and publicational work pick them out of the other same museums.That is why and also because our plans for the longer future about the tourism for the town, Bares finds it important to keep and develop the this cultural and researcher centre by the help of available financial sources.
