Dr. Kéri Nagy Béla: Drávaszentesi középiskolásokkoncepciós pere Pécsett 1947-ben BÉLA KÉRI NAGY, DR. A FEIGNED ACTION OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM DRÁVASZENTES IN PÉCS IN 1947 SUMMARY This essay is about two high school students from Dravaszentes. Géza and László Embersics were students of the Commercial High School in Pécs in the years after the World War II. In this period Hungary became part of the Soviet power block. This process was helped by two factors, one of them was the decision of Moscow and the other one was the Hungarian Communist Party's (MKP) servile attitude to the soviets. The leaders of this party (M. Rákosi and E. Gerő) followed the commands of the soviets without critic. Their aim was the MKP's dictatorship. For this aim they used several actions like bringing discredit upon their opponents, or they used made-up charges against them. Pécs was a centre of the supporters of the Hungarian Small-holders' Party. This party was the most popular in Hungary at that time, they were the winners in the Hungarian election. The MKP which was led by the soviets believed that the churches and the Hungarian Small-holders's Party were its most important public enemies. In 1946 after Gerö's visit in Pécs the MKP-guided Hungarian State Securities (ÁVH) and the Police started to arrest the people with made-up charges. They made house searches in the homes of civils who were closely linked to the Hungarian Smallholders' Party even in church schools and among state troop of boy scouts. Shortly afterwards a feigned action started in Pécs which was against a fictional conspiracy members. On the prisoner's box young high school students sat who were condemned for prison at the same time they were stigmatized for all their lives. In this essay the author remembers back to the two cousins from Dravaszentes: László and Géza Embersics who were arrested and condemned. 172
