János Botka who is a teacher and an excellent amateur scientist at the same time does important research on malacology. His scientific research deserves the observant attention of the curious readers engaged in the discipline of malacology. With the help of this essay he would like to illuminate and make this lesser known branch of learning more perspicuous. On the basis of the characteristic features of the Drava river-bank loess-fauna which takes place at the outskirts of a village called Drávatamási, the author attempted to open up the connection between the snail-communities' ecological claims and the former climatic conditions. 60
