Romanesque baptistery from Hévízgyörk of red sandstone is dated to the 13 century. Its simple, meander like decoration runs round the exterior side of the bowl shaped upper part. The rectangular pillar supporting the basin was attached to the basin by a small octagonal detail. The correspondence with the ecclesiastical symbology can not be occasional: eight is the symbol of rebirth. Only the basin of the baptistery from Budajenő decorated with concave echini and an emphasised rick-rack was preserved. It was also used in a Romanesque church. To the same group belongs the baptistery from Püspökhatvan, the proportions of which are close to Romanesque pieces, although we do not know the exact date of its production. The rim of the bowl part with a rounded bottom is emphasised by a spherical, thin rib. The piece from Szentmártonkáta also had a shape of a low column with a cube capital. Baptisteries from the 14 th-15 th centuries Although we do not know classical Gothic, chalice shaped baptistery from our county, there is a beautiful piece from Nagykőrös representing some kind of its variation. This Late Gothic octagonal, low baptistery with a strongly widening bowl is preserved in the Reformed church of Nagykörös. The bottom is as thick as the bowl and also octagonal following the shape of the chalice. A further baptistery is known from Üllő, its bottom and leg is rectangular, the upper part is round. In Pest county 4 aspersoria have been found and a bronze bowl with carved decoration found in the church from the site of Budaörs-Kamaraerdő. It was also used in church liturgy. Censer Fragments of censers are known only from two sites: Gere se and CeglédNyúlfülehalom. The censer detail from Cegléd dated to the 12 th —13 th century was found at the graves during the excavation of the church. This is an upper, distributive part of a hardly elaborated bronze censer suspended by a chain. Probably it belongs to the type the body of which consisted of two hemispheres turned to each other. In the "old churches" two kinds of censers were used. The first kind, the bigger one was hanging in front of the altar, the other - smaller - one was held by priests. The liturgical meaning of the censer is keeping away the evil forces, the clearing, purification of the body and soul. Chandelier A chandelier made of wrought iron was found at the site of Tápiógyörgye-Ilike part and can be dated to the 13 th century. Most probably it was used in the church. The torqued side of the 114 cm high candelabrum is supported by three legs. The bowl and the stick of the chandelier is missing, but even so, this is a unique piece among Romanesque finds of Hungary. It was found in the direct vicinity of the church, in a burnt down house of Árpádian Age. Church bells, small bells From 1357 we have a written record on the bell-founder Konrád from Visegrád. At the foot of the Salamon tower the exact place of bell founding and the impression of the bell's rim was discovered. We do not know unbroken Romanesque bells from Pest 248
