А Паду István Csoport tagjai az elmúlt időszakban sikerrel vettek részt az országos kisgrafikai biennálékon, a „Halászat a képzőművészetben" című bajai országos kiállításon, a „Kenyér a képzőművészetben" című budapesti seregszemlén, a „Petőfi a képzőművészetben" című bemutatkozáson Kiskőrösön, a „Petőfi Alföldje" című tárlaton ugyancsak Kiskőrösön. Ez a múlt. Tekintélyes, tiszta, élő hagyomány. A jövő az, hogy tagjai közül egyre többen juthassanak el képeikkel, szobraikkal a Magyar Nemzeti Galériába a névadó Паду István remekművei közvetlen közelébe. Miklós Losonci: TWO DECADES OF THE ISTVÁN MAGY-GROUP Art life in the southern region of Pest County started with the unveiling of Géza Fónyi's mural at the District Council of Dabas which inspired artists as well as talented amateurs living in the vicinity. In 1969 13 artists exhibited their works which were mostly related to the Realism characteristic of the Great Plains with the utilization of motifs taken from the local landscape. The chief organizer was Iván Platthy, painter and official of the local cultural administration, whose dedication led to the formation of the group named after the greatest painter of this region, István Nagy. It included artists from the districts of Dabas, Monor and Ráckeve but in the course of the following 20 years their colleagues from the districts of Nagykáta, Abony and Érd joined them. They exhibited their pieces at annual shows held in turn in Dabas, Ráckeve, Monor, Cegléd and Szigetszentmiklós but used the facilities local schools and cultural centres offered them. There is a careful documentation of each show in the essay. A stylistic enrichment was brought about by the formation of the "Insula" in Szigetszentmiklós which embraced young artists, autodidacts and educated colleagues, who were inspired by the spirit of the Avantgarde trends. There is a wider range of genres represented now with the appearance of graphics, textiles and enamel. The number of amateurs has increased as a result of the successful free art school of Felsőfarkasd. The mission of the group has broadened and changed through the years. First its primary task was to organize talented painters in the region giving them inspiration through the oeuvre of István Nagy in the spirit of Realism, then it took the task of educating new audiences and would-be artists by involving the unexplored regions in artistic activities and events. The author suggests that art historians should be encouraged to do further and more extensive research on the art life of the area and that further incentives of art life would be prizes and grants awarded to talented individuals in memory of István Nagy.
