Therefore it would not make any sense to divide Paulovics's career of half a century into periods in terms of style. Therefore, it is better to use some topographical and biographical markers so as to determine the main periods, which do not necessarily indicate radical changes in the artist's program, even if they show some perceptible modifications. I divide the oeuvre into three periods: first, INTRA MUROS (within the walls), the years in the Partium region, in Romania, from 1961 to 1985; second, EXTRA MUROS (outside the walls), the years in German emigration, from 1985 to 1997, and third, SINE MURIS (without walls), the perioc until now, in Szentendre, Hungary.
