with (museumlike) collecting activity existing in the north of the one-time historical Nógrád County belonging to Slovakia today. In Lucenec and Filakovo between 1897 and 1945 the established or just intended artistic, historical, industrial-history, ethnographic and archeological collections were different from each other in many respects. About some of them we hardly know more than just that someone raised the idea of starting a collection. Others achieved fairly nice results in becoming institutions, had their collections inventorized by museum guards and were open for the general public as well. Their evolution was influenced by differing social history backgrounds. Negative events of the analysed period left their marks on their existence: two world wars, the great depression and two imperial changes.
