NEOGRAD 2009 NÓGRÁD MEGm*|>iL AiÜZEUMOK ÉVKÖNYVE XXXIII. pipes and deflectors in the basement unsuitable for storage have caused damages in the artworks in the last 20 years. The art collection of the Salgótarján museum has been increasing from year to year thanks to purchase and gifted pieces. In the mid-1970s Nógrád County purchased the Budapest Mihályfi collection for the museum, containing nearly 700 works, graphic pieces and mainly autonomous drawings. The collection of the Salgótarján museum focuses on drawings. Between the end of the 1980s and the 1990 during 11 years the growth was 630 pieces of art, among them international works as well, since the art colonies held between 1974 and 1991 were attended also by foreign artists. The reconstruction of the Salgótarján museum building has been on agenda. During the reconstruction the exhibition halls will be rearranged according to up-to-date conservation regulations. Hopefully, not only display but also storage facilities may be improved. 139
