MUSEUM EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN EARTH SCIENCES IN THE MUNICIPAL MUSEUM OF PÁSZTÓ The Municipal Museum of Pásztó offers three types of museum education programs in the field of earth sciences. Palaeontological research camps are organized for secondary school students and young adults, who, under the supervision of a palaeontologist, take part in real field research. They excavate a fossil locality, make its documentation, and gather samples for further laboratory research. Our recent program brings field research into the museum, providing opportunity for other age groups to get closer to earth sciences through investigation. We regularly ask our visitors to “wheel with us to the past”. We organize bike tours to nearby geological localities, where participants have the opportunity to collect minerals, rocks and fossils. 356
