The History of the Ráday Family in Lower Ludány by Krisztián Kovács

In the present study the history of the Ráday family in Lower Ludány is taken into consideration on the occasion of commemorating Gedeon Ráday (I.)’s 300th birth anniversary and the 280th anniversary of the death of his father, Pál (I.). With the legal transactions and inheritance in the family outlined the Rádays’ history is followed through from the 16th century up to the mid- 18th century when the Gyürky family from Losonc (Luőenec) became owners of the ancient Ráday possessions. At first some of the ancestors of the family are introduced, namely the Bay family of Ludány and the Libercsey family of Kislibercse (Euborieéka), through whom Lower Ludány became the Rádays’ possession.
