NEOGRAD 2011 • A NOGRAD MEGYEI UZEUMOK ÉVKÖNYVÉ XXXV. Tomka Gábor: 16. századi kályhacsempék az ónodi vár ásatásaiból. Ofenkacheln des 16. Jahrhunderts von den Ausgrabungen der Burg Ónod. In: Archaeologiai Értesítő 132. (2007) 241—266. Stove Eye and Tile Finds in the Fortress of Salgó by Emese László The Fortress of Salgó was first mentioned in sources in 1341. From the second half of the 15th century to the mid-16th century its owners changed several times. The last written account dates back to 1591. Archaelogical excavations began in 1981 and finished in 2006 following a longer lapse of time. Stove eyes and tiles in larger quantity were found in the Upper Castle, in the small cistern at the entrance to the Upper Castle and in the big cistern. However, smaller fragmentary pieces were found on the whole area of the fortress. Near the big cistern a collapsed stove with cup-shaped tiles was successfully unearthed. The stove tiles found in the Salgó fortress are mainly of Banska Bystrica type, but so-called ’Csalogány Street’ type pieces and tiles resembling Miskolczi Mihály’s style were also found. On the basis of the examination of the stove eyes and tiles the conclusion can be made that two stoves may have been in the Upper Castle, which can be dated to the end of the 15th and the second half of the 16th centuries based on the excavation results and analogies. 206
