The hypothesis of the study was that with analysing a single life-course (from history-from-below perspective), and using western specialist literature the questions concerning the lifestyle of town-dwellers and in this case of the working class in Salgótarján can be re-evaluated or at least reconsidered, which seemingly have come to a standstill. Exploring all these models and theories, even with more extended interviewing can help to understand also the transforming of Salgótarján into a socialist town from social history viewpoint, which unreasonably has been a neglected subject for studies so far.
