gen Fall beobachtet. Die, in Bercel-Sáfrányhegy freigelegten Gräber gehören in die jüngere Phase der Piliny-Kultur. Fordítás: Guba Szilvia Graves of the Piliny Culture at Bercel-Sáfrányhegy II. By Szilvia Guba The site in the vicinity of Bercel has been known for a long time in the archeological literature through the excavation works by Pál Patay, mainly because of the Celtic finds at the site. In 1985 on the premises Judit Tárnoki conducted a smaller scale excavation and opened 8 trial trenches. In these altogether 8 cremation-urn burials were found from the younger period of the Piliny culture. The graves were relatively far from each other (4-5 metres) , a part of them was disturbed earlier by agricultural activities. Unfortunately the grave pit or patch could in no cases be identified. From the excavated 8 graves 7 contained more or less human remains, the anthropological examination was successful in 3 cases: an adult woman and two children's remains were identified. In one case the grave covering stonepile could be observed, in one case a smaller stone was placed under the urn. The pottery found on the site was generally badly burnt, in many cases they are crumbling, some vessels could not even be lifted. The urns in 6 cases were covered with a bowl, with the rim turned upside or upside down. Several graves (6 altogether) contained some other vessels as well. In 5 graves bronze artifacts were unearthed fragmented, showing general Late Bronze Age forms (sickle fragments, bronze plate, wire ornament), not allowing a more precise chronological classification. Part of the bronze artefacts was among the ashes, while the other part on top: the above mentioned were burnt, while the latter showed no signs of deformation caused by fire. Fordítás: Tátrai Emese
