TANULMÁNYOK - TÖRTÉNELEMTUDOMÁNY - Kazareczki Noémi: Adalékok a Zubovics család történetéhez

Data to the History of the Family Zubovics By Noémi Kazareczki This essay is about the Zubovics family the documents of which can be found in the Kubinyi Ferenc Museum in Szécsény, in the Komjáthy-legacy. The documents were donated to the museum because of the famous poet Jenő Komjáthy born in Szécsény. The poet's sister Margit Komjáthy (1870-1957) married Ferenc Zubovics in 1892, and in this way the two families became related. Their son Tibor Zubovics (1899-1979) donated the legacy to the museum in 1976. The essay deals not just with the legacy, but also the collection of data published in local newspapers (Szécsényi Hírlap, Ipoly) in the beginning of the 20th century. Most data are about Ferenc Zubovics and Margit Zubovics. Ferenc Zubovics was a sailor as a young man, and thus travelled in the world. Then he moved places often, but finally in 1895 he settled down. He supervised the quality of roads and was a member of the local governing body of the village. Ferenc's daughter Margit Zubovics (1893-1976) was a teacher in Nagylóc, then a teacher in the primary school of Szécsény between 1920 and 1957. The most famous member of the family was Fedor Zubovics, who came from the Hont county line of the family. The study introduces Fedor, who served as a soldier in his lifetime, and invented the land torpedo used in many countries. The soldier Fedor often travelled to hunt to North Africa (Egypt and Sudan). The 30 photos in the collection of the museum were taken in North Africa. At the end of the essay a few photos can be found from the legacy of the Zubovics family. Fordítás: Tátrai Emese
