landowning families? The letters were written in the years following the Rákóczi War for independence, in a period when significant changes took place in the country. The two persons' positions and their knowledge of the period guarantee that the letters contain not only a presentation of the administrative procedures in an estate but also in several cases give pictures of important events even on national scale that cannot be obtained from anywhere else. These make the letters more valuable and outstanding than just documents of literary history as they also provide an important source to the history of Hungary of the period. Fordítás: Tátrai Emese
