Természettudomány - Hír János: A Kárpát-medence középső miocén rágcsálófaunáinak rövid áttekintése

The Collimys genus is known in Switzerland, Bavaria and Austria, as a rare élément from the faunas of the MN 7 - MN 11 zones. In the material of Felsőtárkány 3/2 a new Collimys species is the dominant cricetid and as well the dominant rodent. During the excavations in the 2000-2002 years we collected a statistic amount of teeth and we will give the description of this new species in the immédiate future. The Microtocricetus molassicus is a small sized cicetid with hypsodont molars. It is known from the faunas of the MN 9 zone: Rudabánya, Hammerschmiede, Belchatow A, Gritsev (FEJFAR 1999a). The small beaver Trogontherium minutum was found in Felsőtárkány and Rudabánya. The earlier finds of Felsőtárkány were described as Chloromys sp. by KRETZOI (1982). The study was supported by the project no. T 029148 of the Hungárián National Scientific Fundation. 32
