Természettudomány - Dr. Hír János: Új középső miocén rágcsálófaunák Észak-Magyarországról

Two small and elongated ml were described from Hasznos as E. aff. bifidus by KORDOS (1986). The only E. médius ml from Sámsonháza is larger (2.00 x 1.27) and the E. latior finds from Mátraszőlős are remarkable large (Eg. 3ml: 2.09 x 1.40, 2,31 x 1.4,2.38 x 1.48). In the rieh Eumyarion materials of Southern Germany and Switzerland the gênerai increase of the dental measurements were experienced during the Middle Miocène (BOLLIGER 1994). The youngest Eumyarion molars in Hungary were found from Rudabánya (MN 9)(KORDOS, personal communication). Collimys sp. Figs. 30., 47. 17 cheek teeth of this hamster were found in 2000 in Felsőtárkány 3/2. (First occurence in Hungary.) The measurements of the Ml and ml molars are the following: 3M1 (length x with): 2.13 x 1.34, 2.10 x 1.32, 2.09 x 1.33 2ml:1.78 x 1.20, 1.85 x 1.20 The molars are brachyodont, like the teeth of the Democricetodon genus. The morphology is very similar to С transversus (HEISSIG 1995). The most important markers are briefly the next: - M 1 molars: undivided anterocone, long labial éperon of the anterolophule, short posterior ectolophe of the paracone, middle developed mesolophe, closed ring förmed by the metacone, metalophule and posterolophe - M2 molars: the missing of the antero -lingual protolophule, middle developed posterior ectolophe of the paracone, middle developed mesolophe, présence of closed posterior ring like in M 1 molars - ml molars: two partéd anteroconid, two partéd and V-shaped anterolophulid, long mesolophid, short ectomesolophid - m2 molars: missing of the antero -lingual protolophulid, long mesolophid, long ectomesolophid - m3 molars: elongated shape, long mesolophid, présence of antero -lingual protolophulid, missing of ectomesolophid. The sédiments described by the earlier scholars as "terrestric Sarmatian" are not only Sarmatian, but a part of them refers to the Middle- and Late Badenian. This détermination is based on the rieh mollusc fauna of our localities (elaborated by J. Kókay) and on the corrélation of the MN zones and the âges of the Central Paratethys (STEININGER 1999). Among the studied vertebrate faunas Megacricetodûn minor and Cricetodon hungaricus or С cf. hungaricus are characteristic and constant éléments in Hasznos, Sámsonháza and Mátraszőlős. Hasznos and Sámsonháza probable refers to the MN 6 zone. Mátraszőlős seems to be younger (older part of MN 7/8 zone). During the timeperiod of the MN 7/8 zone ( probable in the Late Sarmatian) significant change taken place in the rodent fauna. Megacricetodon minor and Cricetodon disappeared. In Felsőtárkány 3/2 Collimys sp. is the only hamster. In the younger Felsőtárkány 1. locality a larger sized Megacricetodon sp. was found. Up to the présent the systematic status of this species is uncertain. 245
