The anterolophule is doubled. The lingual éperon of the anterolophule and the mesolophe is long. ml The anteroconid can be various: 1-2 or 3 partéd, but never divided. The anterolophulid is doubled. The mesolophid always reaches the lingual margin of the tooth. Ectomesolophid occures only in one molar, but it is not typical, less developed and partially melted into the anterior surface of the hypoconid. Comments The small or middle sized cricetids are the most fréquent éléments of the European Neogene vertebrate faunas. The systematics of this group was complicated for a long time by the priority 179
