Mindenféleképpen hozzá kellene szokni, hogy legalább a felső paleolitikumtól a jelenségeket össztársadalmi szinten értékeljük, ne pedig egyedileg. Úgy érzem, a paleolit régészetben lassan újra elérkezünk egy olyan fokra, ahol az összegyűlt tudásmennyiség újabb szintézisek megalkotását teszik lehetővé. Ezeknek előfutárai a kísérleti régészet, az újkori természeti népek régészeti kutatása és az etnológia adoptálása. Katalin Simán: Trend in Prehistoric Research During the last décades the study of the Palaeolithic and the Neolithic has significantly changed. Although the old aspects of typological détermination and the cultural définitions have survived, new tendencies colour the picture and promise the opening of new vistas. Two new aspects are discussed with a critical approach to their contribution to the évaluation of the function, structure and development of Prehistoric societies. One of the new aspects is opened by experimentál archaeology the other is the archaeological application of ethnological research. Both can provide séries of new data and séries of misinterpretations as well if not handled with due саге. From the new tendencies the re-evaluation of share of labour, production and survival Systems, exchange and trade patterns, social contacts can be expected. То date, there are yet more doubts than positive results but the growing number of data and the subséquent new approach to undenstand the functioning of prehistoric societies promise new results. 165
