Both the technique and the chosen ornamenting elements are derived from Nagyrév contexts. The technique of the ornament is a definite, deep incision, which is characteristic of all incised decorations within the Nagyrév culture, as shown by some of the most famous pieces from Tószeg 27 and Nagyrév-Zsidóhalom. 28 The decoration of the urn consists of three main elements, the parallels of which can be found separately on several Nagyrév vessels. The first and most dominating motive on the pot is the two horizontal framed bands of zigzag on the neck and on the belly. These framed zigzags comprise an integral part of the Nagyrév decorative tradition, as exemplified by the jars from Tószeg-Laposhalom, 29 Gyula-Törökzug, 30 NagyrévZsidóhalom, 31 Tiszaug-Kéménytető, 32 Kisapostag. 33 In appearance and the positioning of the framed zigzag bands the jar from Új dombóvár 34 can be considered to be the closest parallel of the urn of grave 715. Both pots have the horizontal decorative band on the neck and the belly (the widest part of the vessel). This implies that the cognitive background of the composition can be considered to be very close. It is interesting to note that the Nagyrév jar belongs to the early phase of the respective culture. This could be induced as a deliberate reaching back to ancient Nagyrév details, which in this case symbolises more significance. The fact that the different motives were not restricted to pottery only can be seen from the fragmented wall remains of a Nagyrév house from Tiszaug-Kéménytető, where the framed zigzag motive, 24 HONTI-KISS 1996, Pis.
