A BRIGETIO CANABAEJÁBAN FELTÁRT SZOBA MENNYEZETÉNEK REKONSTRUKCIÓJA A retusálásról el kell mondani néhány, érdekességet, hisz ez a mumus a kutatók számára. A közhit szerint ilyenkor festi át és hamisítja meg a restaurátor az eredeti művet. Ha a retusálás tisztességes és szakszerű, nem elfedi, hanem kiemeli a képben lévő információt. Erre szeretnék egy példát mutatni a jelen freskó helyreállításnál. A tapéta-minta középső soráról van szó 35 év alatt egyetlen töredék sem bizonyult a középső sorhoz tartozónak. Bíró Endre a hiányt a fejsor megduplázásával próbálta megoldani, én pedig az összeépítésnél a középső sor elsinkófálásával vágtam át a gordiuszi csomót. Büszkeségem csak a retusálás során lohadt le, amikor a töredékes fejek kiegészítésekor egymás után kettő olyan motívum tűnt fel saját kezem munkája nyomán, melyre nem is számítottam: meglett a középső sor - persze nem középre beépítve! A terem akkor lesz majd teljesen kész, ha a fontosabb ábrázolások rekonstrukciói elkészülnek, és a tó felőli falat 62 is beillesztjük a már kialakított együttesbe. The reconstruction of the ceiling of the room discovered in the canabae of Brigetio — Summary István BONA, Budapest The last stage of the reconstruction of the large Roman room in the castle of Tata was to build its ceiling. The planning of the work had to be based on the principles already formed during the restoration of the side-walls. The main requirement for the construction to comply with was that it should be detachable and changeable. It is essential since a great number of the fragments are still to be dug out and built in. As the fragments can verify all the important characteristics of the room, the roomreconstruction can be declared authentic. Moreover, we aimed at using the least complements possible.
