The various details of the second renewal (level 4) could be observed more clearly and shall be described at greater length below. The uppermost Tisza level that according to the excavator represents the classical phase of the culture, was uncovered at a depth of 170 cm in trench II, and at a depth of 300 cm in trench VIII: a 20 to 30 cm thick burnt layer of debris, indicating that the house had been destroyed by heavy fire.
