A névadó Batthyány Kázmér (1807-1854) hazánk történelmének közismert személye. A 19. század első felének, kiváltképp a reformkornak és az 1848-49-es forradalom és szabadságharcnakjelentős alakja. A forradalom és szabadságharc alatt több jelentős közigazgatási és katonai megbízatás birtokosa, a Szemere-kormány külügyminisztere. A bukás után emigrációba vonult. Szeged története szempontjából különösen érdekes, hogy részt vett a délvidéki Szenttamásnál vívott csatában és a szőregi ütközetben. A zászló most Szegeden a Fekete Házban, a Móra Ferenc Múzeum történeti osztályának időszaki kiállításán látható. The Homecoming of a Boy-Scout Standard Kept Safe in Exile Imre Orbán In 2004 the standard of the 918 th Kázmér Batthyány Boy-Scout Group of Kistarcsa entered the possession of Szeged's Ferenc Móra Museum. The manner in which our new piece made its way to Szeged was quite an adventure. When the Boy Scout movement was banned in 1948 the flag was hidden. In 1980 it turned up at a Budapest antique dealer's, whence it entered the possession of Ferenc Klinstein, who in 1978 had emigrated to Germany from Kluj. The flag was taken to Regensburg, where it remained until the early 2000. At this point Ferenc Klinstein decided that due to his advanced years and the changed circumstances he would like to place the relic that he had guarded for so long in conditions worthy of it somewhere in Hungary. A „deal" was struck, and the object entered the public collection at Szeged, part of the history collection of the Ferenc Móra Museum. The flag is a 95-5 x 72 cm rectangle. It is made of simple, white canvas. The edge is made up of running wolfs teeth made of wedge-shaped red and green canvas. The embroidery is handmade. In the front there is a wreath of lilies with a ribbon in national colours at the base. In the middle a scout insignia is visible, partly embroidered and partly appliqué. On the reverse side, in the centre, is a wreath of oak branches with the Kossuth coat-of-arms in the middle, the top ends in the troop number, 918. It joins below in a ribbon made up of the national colours.
